About Us
The Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC) is the local voice of Community Pharmacy contractors within one or more Health & Wellbeing Board Areas.
The Local Pharmaceutical Committee is an elected body recognised and specifically referred to in NHS legislation, set up to represent the interest of all local NHS Pharmacy Contractors which has to be consulted by the NHS England Area Team on all matters relating to the terms of service and contracts for Community Pharmacy. LPCs are funded by a levy paid by all contractors.
Community Pharmacy Lancashire & South Cumbria (CPLSC) – the name adopted by Lancashire & South Cumbria LPC represents contractors within the four Health and Wellbeing Board areas: Blackpool Council (Blackpool CCG area), Blackburn with Darwen Council (Blackburn with Darwen & East Lancashire CCG areas), Lancashire County Council (Chorley & South Ribble, Fylde & Wyre, Greater Preston, Morecambe Bay & West Lancashire CCG areas) & South Cumbria (Morecambe Bay CCG area)
LPCs are here to help and advise pharmacy contractors on all NHS matters and to improve pharmaceutical services to the local populations. Their primary aim is to accurately reflect and put forward the professional views and aspirations of all pharmacists engaged in community pharmacy that provide NHS pharmaceutical services in this area.
LPCs are also involved in local negotiations for additional services such as smoking cessation services, EHC services, Medication Use Reviews and health promotion.
Any Community Pharmacist is welcome to attend the open part of an CPLSC meeting.
