High blood pressure is the largest treatable risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD) which can lead to a fatal heart attack, stroke, kidney disease or vascular dementia. CVD causes 1 in 4 deaths in England.
That is why the new high profile blood pressure testing campaign launches Monday 11th March with adverts across TV, social media, PR and billboards, encouraging those 40 and over to get a free blood pressure check at the nearest participating pharmacy.
There are a range of resources to help you support the campaign including social media, digital screens, communications toolkit, web banners and printed “pharmacy finder” cards. If you are a pharmacy that delivers the NHS Blood Pressure Check Service you can order a pharmacy campaign pack including a counter display unit, posters, consultation cards, pharmacy bag inserts and a briefing document – available while stocks last.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Stop Smoking App
Blackpool Teaching Hospitals have released a free digital stop smoking offer for all NHS Staff and Contractors working on the Fylde Coast. This is being extended to Pharmacy Contractors within the same area. Courtesy of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, contractors can now get 3 months’ access to the Smokefree app’s premium features which includes access to live tobacco dependency advisors and a three month FREE supply of nicotine replacement products or a vape and e-liquid refills.
