NHS Contraception Training inc EHC & STI – face to face sessions within LSC – BOOK EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT
The next courses will be taking place on:
15th Jan 2025 at The Tickled Trout, Preston
07th Feb 2025 The Holiday Inn, Lancaster
Following on from the feedback received from the recent EOI around service training and provision, CPLSC are pleased to share that Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health (FSRH) have released a set of dates for wider Primary Care colleagues which includes CPLSC contractors and their teams within Blackpool and Lancashire (excluding Blackburn with Darwen) to engage in face to face training to help support with the NHS Advanced Contraception Service and the locally commissioned EHC services.
The SRH Essentials Course is aimed specifically at healthcare practitioners working in primary care settings. It provides an interactive day with scenario based learning, presentations, time for discussion, questions and role play. It is relevant for those needing an introduction to SRH and also provides a useful update for more experienced staff. These courses are delivered in a variety of locations across our patch. SRH Essentials is not a competency based course and it is not assessed. At the end of the course, you will be able to
• Develop the skills and confidence to consult with patients about their sexual and reproductive healthcare needs
• Recommend an appropriate method of emergency contraception
• Review the COC, POP and injection contraceptive methods
• Carry out sexual health risk assessments
• Identify when patients are at risk of STIs
